Moxico Resources Mining firm says it is an employer of choice as starts it operations in Chingola next month.
Moxico Resources is a British Firm which has partnered with Mimbula Mineral resources a local Mining firm has so far employed 659 employees.
Speaking when Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo and Copperbelt permanent secretary Augustine Kasongo toured the mine Moxico Resources Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alan Davies said that about 100 million dollars has been injected into mining explorations.
Mr Davies said that once the mine starts operations it will inject more than 2-hundred million dollars of investment.
He said that the mine will process the copper to cathode just within the mine.
And, Mr Davies said the company is organized to pay maximum taxes to the government and it has no funny structure of dealings.
“We believe the taxes should remain in the host country and not transferred, we will be paying full tax without the transferring process around the world,” he said.
He said the company is trying to impact the local people by training them and setting up businesses and so far 20 businesses have been set up.
Mr Davies also said the mine is going to building a clinic to be accessed by both the community and employees and their families.
He said the mine is focused on making a difference to Chingola as the mine intends to start with 50 thousand tonnes of copper production annually ramping up production to about 1-hundred thousand tonnes of Copper production annually.
And Copperbelt Minister praised Mimbula Mineral resources for the investment, and assured the mine that their investment is safe.
Mr Matambo said it was pleasing that the mine was partnering with the locals and training them on how to go about it.
He said that condition of service for the employees is important and the work force will yield better results.
