A-31-year-old woman of Chingola’s Chikola Loop area has been killed, while her 10- year-old daughter was sexually defiled and left unconscious after they were attacked by unknown people at home.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga has confirmed to The Independent Observer that the named was killed by unknown people whilst she was asleep.
Ms Katanga said the victim was beaten to death by unknown people who are suspected to have used sharp instrument.
She said the victim had sustained a deep cut on the forehead.
“The daughter to the victim a grade five pupil at one of the government schools in town was also beaten whilst she was asleep in the servant’s quarter. The minor sustained swollen face, bleeding from the mouth and nose and is currently receiving treatment at Nchanga North General Hospital.
“The condition is stable but she is still unable to talk. The body of the mother has since been taken to Nchanga North General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem. A docket of murder has opened and no arrest has been made but we have launched a manhunt to bring the suspect to book and our prime suspect is her man friend,” she said.
Latest information coming from Nchanga North General hospital is that the daughter was also sexually defiled and her condition is bad such that she is now in the Intensive care Unit.
The incident happened between March 26, around 22:00hrs and March 27, at 04:00hrs whilst they were sleeping in the house.
The mother and daughter are all residents of Chikola loop area.
