Missing child’s body found at Kafubu river

The body of a-seven-year-old girl who went missing a month ago has been found in a decomposed state at Kafubu River by a fisher man
.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Sharon Zulu said that on July 8, 2022 a report of missing Person was recorded at Mapalo Police Post by Rachael Mwaba 30, of H/se No 591 Mapalo, Chipulukusu Ndola that her daughter Prosperina Mpundu 7, went missing on July 3, 2022 at 17:00hrs.

Ms Zulu said on August 1, 2022 at 08:30hours Manix Chiyimba went fishing, in Kafubu River, and came across a decomposed body of a child in the river, he reported the matter to the Police.

She said the police summoned Raphael Mwaba in connection to case of   a missing person which was reported almost a month ago and visited the scene together.

“They discovered a decomposed body and a pair of slippers at the scene,   the victim’s body was putting on a grey/ black dress which Raphael Mwaba identified to be for her daughter as the one she was last seen putting on.

“Postmortem is yet to be conducted at the scene  as the body  is in a bad state,” she said.
