Mimbula Minerals donates to 2 Chingola Parliamentarians

Mimbula Minerals of Chingola has donated to assorted items towards the fight against coronavirus to Nchanga and Chingola Members of Parliament.

Mimbula Minerals Director Fidelis Chanda said the virus has no cure so the best way is to prevent it hence the donation of assorted items worthy worth K120, 000.

Mr Chanda said the company has donated so that people in public places can be protected from getting the virus.

Mr Chanda said the donation was part of it cooperate social responsibility (CSR) in the community so that they have a health workforce.

He said the mine which is likely to start operations in the third quarter of this year has a life span of over 20 years.

And Nchanga Member of Parliament Chali Chilombo who received the donation on behalf of both constituencies expressed gratitude to the mine saying that despite zero production they are thinking of the plight of the community.

Mr Chilombo said that the donation will go a long way and will go to the right people in the community and will be put to the right use.
He said that the approach the company has taken is a good one as this virus is serious and it better it is prevented.
Immediately after the donation the MP went to Kabundi East Market where he did sensitize the residents and left some of the donated items.

Some of the donated items include face masks, liquid soap, hand sanitizer, disinfectants and buckets.
