Mimbula Minerals has commissioned a new classroom block at Lulamba Day High School in Chingola as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The company aims to support the education sector and contribute positively to the community.
According to Mimbula Minerals Director, Davis Mwanamoye, the company recognized the importance of education in national development and the future of the country.
He highlighted the company’s commitment to CSR, with a budget of $50,000 set aside for community development projects this year.
Mr. Mwanamoye said the company plans to engage with the community to identify their needs and priorities. He said current projects include rehabilitating a training facility to provide skills to local youths and supporting small businesses.
Mr. Mwanamoye also said Mimbula Minerals has purchased 100 hectares of land to build 500 housing units for its employees.

Chingola District Commissioner Raphael Chimumpi commended Mimbula Minerals for the gesture, which supplements the government’s efforts on the free education policy.
Mr. Chimumpi said the infrastructure is timely, helping to manage the growing numbers of learners.
Chingola Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe said that Mimbula Minerals has come to change the lives and face of Chingola, as demonstrated in the works done so far.
Chingola District Standards Office Hellen Mapipo, Lulamba Head Teacher Amos Mupesa, Lulamba Councillor Samuel Lupito, and the Parent-Teacher Association Chairperson Enocent Bishonga appreciated the gesture and called for more classrooms, citing the school’s large catchment area and insufficient classrooms.
