South African based midfielder Nathan Sinkala has joined the Chipolopolo Boys ahead of Thursday’s crucial Cameroon 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria.

Sinkala who plays for Stellenbosch joined the camp on Saturday.

Sinkala said in an interview upon arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka that Algeria is a big team hence the team should be focused and use home advantage to beat them.

The 2012 AFCON winner who was the third foreign based player to join the camp said the team has to give in all they have in order in the coming games in order to win and qualify.

“First of all I want to say thank you to the coach and the technical bench for considering me and calling me back to the national team.I am ready and looking foward to the game. I think as you are aware Algeria is a big team so we just have to remain focused and work as a team. Because first leg they beat us and we are home so we just need to use home advantage, “he said.

He said that the two games are important for Zambia who have failed to qualify for the last two editions of AFCON.

“These two games are very important to us because we have been out of two AFCONs so we just have to give in all that we have to give all that we have to these games,” he said.

Sinkala said being an experienced player, he will encourage and push his teammates to work hard in order to ensure the Chipolopolo conquers.

Sinkala also urged the fans to support the team.

“The fans must be there for us and just continue praying with us and come Thursday, we will give them what they want,” he said.

Simba duo of Cletus Chama and Larry Bwalya joined the team last week.

Others that have joined camp are goalkeeper Mwenya Chibwe and striker Gamphani Lungu of Polokwane City and SuperSport United respectively.

Chibwe and Lungu arrived on Sunday.
