Media urged to report truthful- OC Chingola

Chingola District Conflict Resolutions Committee Chairperson Chilekwa Mushita has called on the media to report truthful as the country heads towards to the polls.

Speaking during stakeholders engagement meeting with the Church, the Police and the Media, the OC emphasized on the need to verify information with the police before it gets to the public.

Mr Mushita said that the media should maintain their professional ethics in reporting and balance in their news coverage.

“The Media, the Church and the police plays an important role in dissemination of information, the police can not work alone without you people, our meeting with you today is to build the relationship especially on this sensitive period, as the country heads to the general elections,” he said

He assured the media, the church and the community at large support from his office.

And Pastor Kelvin Shimwitwa also said that the church should play their role in preaching peace and unity to the people especially this period.

And Bishop Caddie  Ng’ambi said that the media the church and the police should work together as one entity as the country heads to the polls.O
