Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo has warned Solwezi General Hospital Management and Staff for lack of seriousness and poor standards on service delivery.
Ms Masebo in the early hours of today paid an impromptu visit to Solwezi General Hospital to check on health care and service delivery by management and staff at the hospital.
She arrived past 01:00 in the company of North-Western Province Permanent Secretary Colonel Grandson Katambi, his deputy Naomi Tetamashimba amongst other provincial Health officials to check on service delivery and the overall general state of the largest hospital in the province.
Ms Masebo was shocked and disappointed with what she found and took management to task over the poor standards at the facility and wondered why the hospital was in such a poor state.
The Minister also interacted with patients as she checked various wards and department and the patients and their relatives complained of lack of seriousness at the hospital.
