The University Teaching Hospital -UTH- says the man whose private parts were cut off has undergone a successful operation and his condition is stable.
UTH Public Relations Officer Nathalie Mashikolo said doctors have confirmed that Abednigo Katuka’s wound is healing well.
Ms Mashikolo also said surgeons will have to work on Mr Katuka again to create a passage for urination.
She said that Mr Katuka is now able to walk, seat and feed on his own.
Ms Mashikolo disclosed that because Mr Katuka is mentally challenged, a psychiatrist will be engaged, and he will possibly be referred to Chainama hospital to continue his mental treatment.
And his cousin, Ruskin Ntalasha said Katuka has been mentally challenged for close to twenty years now.
