A 32-year- old man of Mazabuka has survived with injuries after he was ran over by a goods train.
Police Spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo said the victim sustained a broken right leg and general body pains.
Ms Katongo said police visited the scene of accident and suspected the victim to have been drunk with the locally brewed illicit beer Kachasu.
She said the victim on his way home fell down near the rail line leaving his right leg in the rail line.
Ms Katongo said this happened in the early hours of today October 14, 2020 at about 03:00 hours.
She said when the goods train hooted the victim was fast asleep hence ran over his leg.
Ms Katongo said he was rushed to Mazabuka General Hospital.
