Police in Choma have arrested a-37-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his young brother to death after a misunderstanding.
This has come barely a day after a student In Lusaka stabbed his friend at Rockview University.
Denmark Sikumba stabbed Michelo Miyanda 27, of Pemba District in Southern Province on July 30, 2023 at around 23:30 hours at the suspects house in Mwapona Compound.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said brief facts of the matter are that the victim had travelled from Pemba to Choma on July 29, 2023 to visit his elder brother.
Mr Hamoonga said on July 30, 2023 at around 15:00 hours, the duo went for a drinking spree within Mwapona Township and at around 23:00 hours, they went back home whilst quarreling and later they started fighting inside the suspects house.
He said afterwards, the wife to the victim head noise in the house and immediately she went out, called for help from neighbours and Police officers at Mwapona Police Post.
Later, Police officers rushed to the crime scene where they found the deceased laying lifeless on the floor in a pool of blood. After physical inspection, the victim’s body was found with a deep cut on the right thigh and it was deposited in Choma General Hospital Mortuary awaiting Post-mortem and burial,” he said.
