The identified as Edward Manda, and is allegedly believed to have been shot by a Chinese national in Lumezi district, Eastern Province has died.
Acting Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Davies Simwanza said that police have since amended the charge slapped on Wu Zhigang from attempted murder to murder.
“Mr Manda, 46, of Zumwanda area in Lumezi died on Tuesday at Chipata Central Hospital where he was admitted after he was shot and Mr Wu of Makeni area in Lusaka is alleged to have shotnManda who was among people found picking aqua stones at the Chinese owned Jin Wan Mine in Lumezi district on Monday,” he said.
Mr Simwanza said that Manda was shot on the left thigh causing him to sustain a fractured leg.
He said that the suspect is detained at Lundazi Police Station.
