A 20 year old man of Mufulira has been sentenced to four years imprisonment for theft of meters belonging to Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company.
Abel Chibwe a resident of Mufulira was found guilty on four counts of theft of four meters and sentenced for one year on each count to run concurrently.
Before Mufulira Magistrate Sharon Luhanga was Chibwe, a charcoal burner who admitted to the charge and was convicted accordingly.
In count one Chibwe was charged with theft of a water meter valued at K1, 500, in count two Chibwe was charged with theft of a water meter valued at K1, 500, in count three Chibwe was charged with theft of a water meter valued at K1, 500 and in count four, Chibwe was charged with theft of a water meter valued at K1, 500.
Chibwe was convicted and sentenced to one year for each count and the sentences will run concurrently.
