Police in Matero have detained and arrested a-35-year-old man for allegedly defiling his step daughter aged 11 years.
The suspect of unknown house number in George Township is alleged to have been defiling is step daughter between August 2023 and December 27, 2023 in George Township in Lusaka District.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said brief Facts of the matter are that the mother to the victim works at a named bar in Soweto Township and leaves home around 05:00 hours and reaches home around 22:00 hours leaving her three children in care of her husband the now suspect.
Mr Hamoonga said it is alleged that on December 26, 2023 neighbours informed her that her 11 year old daughter was unwell, she immediately went home and asked her daughter what was wrong.
He said the daughter explained that she had stomach pains and further revealed that her stepfather was having Canal knowledge with her every time she went for work.
The suspect is detained in custody and will soon appear in court.
