Police in Lusaka have picked a body of a man suspected to have been murdered by unknown criminals.
The suspected murder is alleged have occurred between August 29, 2022 at 17:00 hours and August 30, 2022 at 07:00 hours in Salama park.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Raphael Lesa of unknown house number in Salama Park reported that there was a dead body of unidentified male person lying in the drainage along Pelican Street.
He said when police visited the scene, they found the body in drainage naked with a pant only whilst the other clothes heaped beside the drainage.
Mr Hamoonga said the man is estimated to between the age of 24 to 27 and no visible injuries on his body.
“The body was retrieved from the drainage and taken to University Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem and burial,” he said.
Mr Hamoonga appealed to members of the public who could be missing a male relative to come forward and help to identify the deceased person.
