Police have launched a manhunt for a-45-year-old man of Lusaka’s Chawama Township who allegedly beat up his wife to death after she filed for divorce.
It is alleged that the two have been having marital disputes which made the victim to sue for divorce at Chawama Local court accusing the husband of having a girlfriend.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Laston Khumalo the suspect is on the run after murdering his wife Charity Mumba 30 both of Chawama Township.
Mr Hamoonga said Police rushed to the scene of crime and found the victim beaten and injuries were visibly seen and also bleeding from the nose.
He said the incident occurred yesterday and she was rushed to Chawama Level 1 Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The body has since been deposited in University Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem and burial.
