The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested a 22-year-old Zambian national for trafficking in over 4.5 kilogrammes of heroin.
The Commission has charged and arrested Andrew Kalilo for Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Importation of Narcotic Drugs contrary of the Laws of Zambia.
DEC Public Relations Officer Hussein Khan said Andrew of house number 1050 Sugar Road in Matero was apprehended at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka as he was coming from Benin via Addis Ababa on an Ethiopian Airlines flight.
Mr Khan said a search of his luggage by Drug Enforcement Officers led to the discovery of 4.708 kilogrammes of heroin that was concealed in tablets of soap.
He said Andrew is detained in custody and will appeal in court soon.
