Kwacha Member of Parliament Joseph Malanji has said he will construct a police post at a cost of K 500,000 to be named fate first lady Esther Lungu in Kitwe’s Nkana East residential area.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the police being built near Nkana East Clinic, Malanji said government valued the importance of having security closer to the people.
Malanji has been supporting the police service using personal resources to help safeguard public property such as health centres.
And Kitwe District Deputy Officer Commanding Brian Namangolwa said Police will work extra hard and incorporate members of the community in order to effectively manage crime.
Namangolwa said despite the rising cases of crime in the area, the police were ready to deal with the crime rate.
