Makembo welcomes appointment of Asanovic

Chipolopolo Patron Pastor Peter Makembo has welcomed the appointment of Croatian Aljosa Asanovic as new Coach for the Chipolopolo National Team.

Speaking in an interview with the Independent Observer, Makembo said the appointment of Asanovic by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) as the new coach is a good move and should be supported by all Zambians.

“As the Mother Board of sports fraternity in the Country, we are saying that we are happy with what FAZ has given us, because the technical beach has been there before and they understand what’s going on, so we shall move with them because that’s the country he has been looking for,” he said.

He said the four year term given to them is enough time for them to prepare and deliver to the expectations of many Zambians.

Makembo said that FAZ has trusted the new coach with the responsibility to take football to another level hence the need to supplement government’s effort by giving them all the necessary support.

He has since called on all Zambians especially the soccer fans to give FAZ, the new coach and technical beach massive support they need for them to deliver.

The former Croatia international replaces Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic who was fired last year.
