Maiteneke ward Councillor Alter Chizuma has donated books and uniforms to pupils in his ward to help parents who are unable to buy those items.
Mr Chizuma said that the initiative is targeted at the vulnerable in the ward as January and February is a crucial period, things are hard.
He said the Government has put priority to education sector and want to see to it that all the children from vulnerable homes and well to-do homes are educated.
Mr Chizuma said education is the best equalizer for all.
“We want even the people from vulnerable home as something to take them away from poverty because once someone has an education them they have an opportunity to excel,” he said.
