A-26-year-old woman of Lusaka’s Chalala area has being burnt with hot water and assaulted with a wooden chair on suspicion that she was going out with a married man.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said Febby Chali was being suspected of having an intimate relationship with a married man who is the suspect’s husband .

Ms Katongo said the suspect is Esnart Mulishi 37, also of Chalala who is currently detained in police custody while the victim is receiving medical attention.

She said Chali was burnt with hot water on her body, face and further assaulted using a Wooden chair causing her to sustain a cut on the upper lip and on the head.

Ms Katongo said it is alleged that the victim went looking for the father of her child (Mulishi’s husband) to request for child maintenance alleging that he had neglected the child but only found the wife home who later assaulted her and poured hot water on her.
