Lusaka water to improve supply

By MAIMBO MWEEMBA
Water Development and Sanitation Minister, Mike Mposha says the Ministry will next month add 50,000 cubic meters of water supply in Lusaka per day.

Mr Mposha said this follows the completion of the 150 million dollar Kafue bulk water project his Ministry has been working on.

He said the project has been completed and testing of electrical installation has commenced.

Mr Mposha said the project is only waiting official commissioning on the date to be announced soon.

He said that the idea behind the project is to improve water supply in Lusaka, particularly the North-Eastern part of the city and areas that are being supplied from the Lumumba reservoir.

The Minister also said the Government is committed to improving water supply in Lusaka and the country at large as it is a basic necessity to human beings.
