Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company has invested over US$ 780 million in water and sanitation projects aimed at improving access to water and sanitation services.
Lusaka Water Managing Director Jonathan Kampata said the investment was made with the support from Government and cooperating partners.
Mr Kampata was speaking when he paid a courtesy call on the ZNBC Director General Richard Mwanza to explore ways on how the company can collaborate with the broadcaster to show the
various projects which are being implemented to improve service delivery.
He said that Lusaka Water is responding to the challenge of population increase and rapid urbanization which has resulted in increased demand for water and sanitation services.
“We have responded to this situation by investing in infrastructure for water and sanitation. Our commitment is demonstrated by the various projects that we are implementing in order to improve access to water and sanitation in Lusaka.
“The company has invested over US$ 780 million in water and sanitation through the Millennium Challenge Project, Kafue Bulk Water Supply Project and Lusaka Sanitation Programme,” he said.
