Lusaka Police Arrest 136 in Routine Patrols

Lusaka division police apprehended 136 persons, comprising 128 males and 8 females, during routine patrols conducted from 08:30 hours. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to ensure law and order in the city.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga stated that the suspects were apprehended in various locations known for criminal activity, including the Bombay Drainage along Burma Road, the ZESCO Flyover Bridge along Great East Road, and the Misisi Flyover Bridge.

The police appeal to the public to support their efforts to rid the city of criminal elements, commonly known as “junkies,” who have been terrorizing innocent citizens. The safety and security of the community remain the top priority, and the police are committed to ensuring that peace and order prevail in the country.

Mr. Hamoonga emphasized that the operation will continue, and urged the public to report any suspicious activity to their nearest police station.
