Lubambo Musonda relishing upcoming games

Poland based Chipolopolo midfielder Lubambo Musonda says he is looking forward to the three upcoming friendlies for the national team as they commence preparations for World Cup qualifiers.

Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has summoned 36 players for triple friendly engagement against Senegal, Benin and Sudan.

Zambia will play Senegal on June 5 and three days later lockhorns with Benin before facing Sudan on 11 June.

Musonda, who plies his trade at Slask Wroclaw said after a training session this morning that he is feels good to be part of the team for the three matches.

“It is always good to be back with the national team whom now we have a big task to start preparing for the World Cup qualifers and for me it is very good I am starting training because the league is just from ending so we do not have time to rest and relax it is time to push and work hard and yeah we will see what happens,” he said.

The former Power Dynamos winger said playing Senegal, Benin and Sudan is very important for the team and has urged the players to give everything during the matches.

“These are important games for us especially that we are trying to see each and every player, we are trying to make our team. So these are very important games for us and each and every game we have to be serious. We have to give everything and show ourselves and I am sure every player who is here is ready to give everything for the country,” he said.

Micho has omitted four key players in strikers Fashion Sakala, Evans Kangwa,Red Bull Salzburg duo of Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu to allow them sort out their club futures.

Sakala is on the verge of completing a move to Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers while Kangwa of Arsenal Tula is really to move during the window and so are Daka and Mwepu.

The Serbian has however, handed call-ups to Cardiff City teenager Ntazana Mayembe,Lusaka Dynamos duo of Gaboniso Magenge and Wisdom Moyela.

Kitwe United winger Edward Lungu has also received a maiden call-up.
