Two white Rhinos have died after being hit by a Namibian-registered lorry, in an accident that happened within the Mosi -oa-Tunya National Park in Livingstone.
Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale has confirmed in a statement that the two Rhinos died last night on the Livingstone-Kazungula Road which passes through the national park.
Doctor HAamukale has since instructed the Department of National Parks and Wildlife, the Road Development Agency and the Road Transport and Safety Agency to put up speed humps on the road within the park to avoid similar accidents.
He said it is also important to place visible warning signs indicating that wild animals cross the road in the park to alert motorists using the Livingstone-Kazungula highway
