Levy Zulu aspires for Nchanga Ward

By Ireen Mulenga
Nchanga Ward aspiring Councillor Levy Zulu wants to embark on community oriented campaigns based on the challenges the community is facing in the ward.

Speaking with The Independent Observer today, Mr Zulu said crime rate is one of the challenges the community needs to be addressed.

He said it will be imperative to persuade government to put a police post near Banda market.

He mentioned Title Deeds as a second challenge where a lot of residents are staying in the houses without titled deeds.

He said should he be elected; matters of Titles Deeds will be discussed with relevant authorities.

Mr Zulu said several times drainages in the area get blocked because people throw litter drainage.

His target is to engage the youths to start unblocking the drainages, then follow up with sensitization to the residents so that they desist from throwing into the drainages especially plastics.

Apart from drainage blockages, another thorn matter is garbage.

He said residents have lamented about garbage which has no place to throw whereby residents throw them anyhow.

He said he has seen the place designated by the council near Ulemu where garbage can be thrown and collected once in a while.

“If voted into office, I will sacrifice 50% of my salary as a way of paying back to the community. In an event of funerals, the money can be used to buy tents and other logistics,” he said.
