Let’s woo more youths to be voters-Chisambo

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Chililabombwe Constituency PF Youth Chairperson Samson Chisambo says youths need to find a mechanism of wooing fellow youths to be voters.

Mr Chisambo said the young people seem to have less interest in the electoral process especially taking part in voting.

He said the young people who are already into politics can retain, groom, and reach out to other young voters to take part in the coming elections in 2021.

“Zambia is next year going to the polls and youths tend to participate in elections less than older citizens, hence need for the youths in the district to mobilise others. Bringing more youth to the ballot boxes requires specific measures and overall an environment that is empowering them to participate in civic life.

“It is important to engage youths in the electoral process to participate actively in the democratic life of their country. As we are nearing towards the elections collectively as youths of PF across the nation we can make other youths interested in politics. More importantly the message is that we should begin mobilize them now so that they don’t join wrong parties. As youths we can develop skills with motivation from our leaders to successfully interact as they create space for youths by removing barriers to youth involvement,” he said.

Mr Chisambo implored other youths to join Patriotic Front under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu which he claimed to have effected unprecedented infrastructure development and good governance ever experienced in Zambia.
