Kalulushi PF aspiring Mayor Paul Chivunda says that youths need to be given room for involvement in the development of the nation.
Mr Chivunda said incorporating a Zambian youth in the development of the nation enhances many developmental aspects.
He said the youth will even become responsible citizens who have a sense of duty and very patriotic for their nation.
“In achieving the theme of this year’s Youth day, ‘Enhancing National Development Through sustainable youth partnership’, much emphasis needs to be put in partnering the youth in various national development spheres so as to make use of their fresh energy. This will not only make the youth’s responsible citizens but also save the youth from aimless living,” he said.
Mr Chivunda said empowering and involving the youths in national developments is a remedy to many developmental ailments.
He said such heals the youth from their involvement in drug and substance abuse since they are kept busy all the time.
