English Premier League side Leicester City have confirmed the signing of Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka on a five-year-deal from 1 July, subject to Premier League and international clearance.
Daka has signed a five-year deal at the King Power Stadium, which begins on July 1. Leicester City have paid a whooping $41 Million for his services. Daka is widely seen as the long-term replacement to Jamie Vardy. Daka ended last season with 34 goals and 12 assists in all competitions for Salzburg.
Brendan Rodgers Foxes have paid £23million for his services, beating the likes of Liverpool and West Ham to his signature. Daka scored 34 goals last season as Salzburg secured their fourth successive Austrian Bundesliga title. The Zambian also won the Austrian top flight’s player of the year award. Previous winners of the accolade include Erling Haaland and Naby Keita.
He told lcfc.com: “I’m so, so excited to join this great, historic club. It has been my dream and I’m so happy and looking forward to what’s coming next.
“I have followed Leicester from the time they won the league. I feel it is the perfect place for me, because it’s a team that fights for titles. I know it’s not going to be easy, but I feel ready to face this new challenge.
“I will give my best for the club each and every day, and I look forward to seeing the Leicester City fans inside the stadium soon.”
Zambians all over the world have expressed delight to see Daka join the Premier League as he works his way to becoming a world-class superstar. Daka becomes boss Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the summer.
