Leaders key to re-opening of schools-Mabumba

General Education Minister David Mabumba says that the smooth opening of schools depends on the leaderships of the district.

Mr Mabumba urged the district leaders to provided leadership for the process of opening schools to be successful.

He said that the community depends on the leadership of the district to work together as a team and ensure everything is put in place.

Mr Mabumba said this when he toured some of the schools in Chingola to spot check the preparedness of schools ahead of the re-opening of schools on June 1.

He said everyone should come on board especially parents as they are key for the successful opening of schools.

He said the excises need consorted effort from everyone.

He said teaches will be trained to be the first respondent team at school level to be able to identify in case of anything.

The Minister said that the people will be able to adhere to the new normal and follow up the preventive measures.

Mr Mabumba said that teachers should ensure that the children follows the rules that have been put in place.

He commended the district leadership for the effort they have put up in the opening of the school.

And Chingola District Commissioner Agnes Tonga thanked the minister for the support Government is giving so that children get back to school.
