Chief Chisomo of the Lala people of Serenje District in says President Edgar Lungu deserves a second term of office to complete new projects and initiate more.
The Traditional Leader says it is the first time that Serenje – Chisomo Road has been worked on.
He said the Head of State has also been responsive in sectors such as health, agriculture, education, among others.
Meanwhile, the traditional leader has urged the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) to urgently send relief food to his area as floods swept away fields.
Chief Chisomo said several subjects were also left homeless.
He said President Edgar Lungu deserves praise because he sends relief food to his area annually due to perennial flash floods.
Chief Chisomo also said flash floods have swept away crossing points to Chisomo urging the Road Development Agency (RDA) to apply emergency measures before the contractor resumes work on the road after industrial break.
And Serenje District Commissioner Pastor Chunga Musonda said Government was doing everything possible to replace the two bridges along Serenje- Chisomo Road which were washed away yesterday due to heavy rains.
Pastor Chunga had assured the people of Chisomo and other affected areas in the district that President Edgar Lungu would not neglect them.
The District Commissioner said a team from Road Development Agency (RDA) was expected in Serenje to asses the challenge.
Pastor Chunga also confirmed that Government would distribute relief food in all affected areas in the district.
