Chililabombwe Town Clerk George Mulenga says Council employees failing to provide services to the public are robbing masses of their rights to access those services.
Speaking at Civic Centre during the Orientation of Employees on the new conditions of Service Mr Mulenga said a Council employees’ mandate is to provide quality services to the Local community.
He cited an example of the important role revenue collectors play at the Local authority stating that it’s the money they collect and remit that aids in the smooth running of Council operations.
“I am urging all revenue collectors to remit all the collected revenue to the Council so that we are able to buy brooms that are used to keep our streets clean,” he said.
Meanwhile ZULAWU Vice Chairperson Victor Kapasa commended council management for taking time to hold an orientation meeting with all the employees.
Chililabombwe Municipal Council will on later dates orient employees from Legal Services, Human Resource and Administration, Public Health, Housing and Social Services and Engineering departments.
