Konkola Blades hold Nkana

By Mercy Chewe
Konkola Blades have started life after firing coach Levy “Chubby” Chabala with a 1-1 home draw against Nkana at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

Konkola on Monday fired Chabala together with his assistant Lewingtone Mujembe after a string of poor results.

The Chililabombwe club on Wednesday gave away a first half lead to draw against Nkana in a rescheduled FAZ Super Division match.

Konkola took a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to Edward Mwenya’s 24th minute goal that was cancelled when Kalampa equalised through Jacob Ngulube 21 minutes into the last half.

The draw has done little to move Nkana or Konkola up the table.

Nkana remained 11th on the table after moving to 16 points after playing 13 matches.

Konkola are stuck in sixteenth position after increasing their points to 12 in 13 games played.
