Konkola Blades go second in Division One

Konkola Blades are celebrating after thrashing MUZA FC 2-0 away in Choma in a FAZ National Division One match played on Saturday.

Strikers Owen Tembo and Victor Mubanga were the scoresheet in the match played at Independence Stadium.

This was Konkola’s third consecutive win.

The win lifts the Chililabombwe side into second position with 24 points, one behind leaders Kansanshi Dynamos, after 13 matches played.

Ninth placed Muza have 15 points after playing 13 matches.

Elsewhere, Kansanshi were held to a 1-1 draw by Mufulira Wanderers at home in Solwezi on Saturday.

Kansanshi led in the 84th minute with Samuel Chiteta’s controversial goal that was cancelled in addition by Bwalya Chela’s equaliser.

In Lusaka, Nchanga Rangers forced a goalless draw against National Assembly.

Nchanga would have gone on top of the table had they beaten Assembly.
