Kitwe United beef up squad

The newly promoted team to super division 2018 season Kitwe United football club has beefed up its squad with the acquisition of nine new players. 

The Kitwe City Council sponsored side was allocated K5.6 million budget to perform as competitors in the super division.

Beauty Undi the Assistant Spokesperson at the Council said the club has purchased nine players to beef up squad ahead of the season opening later this month.

The players hired are from Nkana Football Club, Power Dynamos, Real Nakonde, Caps United (Zimbabwe) and Zesco Luapula.

Chingalika as Kitwe United is fondly called has strengthened the squad by signing Caps United midfielder Michael Mwemba, Zesco Luapula winger Humphrey Mambwe.

Undi said the other players are Real Nakonde goal keeper Lameck Siame and Powers Dynamos striker Lyson Sikaonga who have joined on a permanent basis as outright purchases.

“The four from Nkana football club are striker Emmanuel Kalala, Midfielder John Siayawamba, winger Austin Muwowo and defender Kyawa Kapota together with Power football club midfielder Victor Kashitu have joined Kitwe United on loan.

“The squad will be unveiled on Friday during a cocktail to celebrate the victory to the super division league,” she said.
