Irate Buchi residents are fighting running battles with police after an overzealous officer reportedly shot dead a civilian.
According to eye witnesses, the police officer shot the unidentified man after they had an argument at a car wash in Buchi.
The car wash had by passed the pre-paid water meter and someone reported the matter and Nkana with cops went to check and found him and they comforted the owner.
And so he was resisting and eventually got shot in the chest and died on the spot .
Copperbelt police commissioner Charity Katanga has confirmed the riots.
“Yes, there are riots in Buchi. The residents are rioting over a shooting incident, I am rushing there and will give full details soon,” said Katanga.
