Father to a juvenile who has been charged for shooting dead his elder sister using his gun has been warned and cautioned for failing to secure a firearm.
Police also arrested the juvenile and charged with murder.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Lyson Phiri aged 70 has been warned and cautioned for the offence of failing to secure a fire arm Contrary to Section 38 (1) of CAP 110 of the laws of Zambia.
“Police have formerly charged and arrested the male Juvenile aged 18 for Murder Contrary to Section 200 of CAP 87 of the laws of Zambia,” he said.
Last week, news of the juvenile that shot dead his 39 year old sister who was at the time seated in the living room was reported on various media platforms.
