Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) and its Subsidiary Companies, has warned business partners and the public over unscrupulous people who are soliciting for applications to register new vendors and upgrade the company vendor data base.
KCM General Manager Corporate Affairs Shapi Shachinda said the firm and its Subsidiary Companies have at no time sent out any documents requiring contractors and suppliers or any firm seeking to do business with the Company to provide information purportedly for refreshing of the vendor data base.
The subsidiary companies are the Konkola Mineral Resources Limited and KCM SmelterCo Limited.
And Mr Shachinda said that the claimed registration or fresh applications is a hoax by people seeking to bring the name of KCM into disrepute by conning unsuspecting KCM vendors or potential business partners.
Speaking in a statement, Mr Shachinda said KCM will continue to engage and communicate with current and future business partners through the official and ordinary course of business.
He said the current and future business partners are advised that KCM and the subsidiaries will not be held liable for any unofficial dealings that will be entered into with the scammers.
