KCM fires Konkola Blades Boss

By JOHN SAKALA
Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) the official sponsor of Konkola Blades Football Club has relieved Davey Mubita of his duties as club Chairman.

KCM Provisional Liquidator Milingo Lungu has already made similar changes at Chingola side Nchanga Rangers.

But with Mubita there was groaning from the fans that he was blocking some fans and stakeholders that meant mean well.

At this time only the Liquidator knows exactly the reasons behind the axing of Mubita from the top slot.

Lungu said KCM in its pursuit to revive the fortunes of one of Zambia’s oldest clubs has appointed Cornelius Chimbanga as Club Patron.

He said Bernard Mwanza was appointed as the new Chairman for Konkola Blades and tasked the duo to work hard and ensure the team wins promotion to the Eden University National Division One League from the Division One Provincial League for the Copperbelt region, this season.

The other appointments are Billiard Mpengeula (Vice Chairman), Alfred Ng’ambi (Secretary), Berrim Mubanga (Treasurer) and committee members, Osward Mangamu, Ashok Patel, Mupeta Musonda and Twiggy Mwamba.

“I believe this is a new dawn for “Razor Sharp” Konkola Blades, the supporters and other stakeholders and football lovers in Chililabombwe and other parts of Zambia. Konkola Copper Mines wishes the new executive committee the very best in their endeavours and it is our prayer that they will work hard to win promotion to the National Division One League in the current season,” he said.

Lungu thanked the executive committee of outgoing Chairman Mubita for their contributions to Konkola Blades during a difficult phase for Konkola Copper Mines.

He said Konkola Blades does not deserve to be in the lower ranks of the FAZ league because it is another KCM team with a rich history from its pioneering days Bancroft Blades.
