Konkola Blades Football Club (KBFC) has formally signed a new contract with its current head coach, Beston Chambeshi, to continue his tenure at the club until the end of the 2025/2026 football season.
Coach Chambeshi’s contract was due to expire at the end of this month.
Since the start of the 2024-2025 Zambian Premier League (ZPL) National League season, he has overseen a period of unprecedented dominance. Under his management, Blades have played 14 games, with 10 wins, three draws, and one loss.
KBFC Chairman, Davy Mubita, said Coach Chambeshi’s leadership and commitment to Konkola Blades have been crucial to the club’s success since the start of the 2024-25 season.
“Signing a new contract with Coach Chambeshi reflects our utmost confidence in his ability to guide the team back to winning promotion to the country’s topflight league, the ZPL’s Super Division, as well as playoffs of Absa Cup games,” Mubita said.
Coach Chambeshi expressed his happiness at continuing his journey at Blades, stating that he has set a plan to take Konkola Blades to higher levels in the football industry.
“I’m really happy to continue as head coach at Blades because we have set a plan that will take Konkola Blades back to the Super League and ensure it stays,” he said.
Coach Chambeshi’s dedication to delivering positive results aligns with KBFC’s objective of becoming one of the biggest clubs in the nation and at the continental level in the years to come.
