Kawambwa Town Council is dismayed with the manner in which residents are disregarding the health guidelines put in place to prevent Coronavirus.
Kawambwa Public Relations Officer Agnes Banda said that the general public is not following the regulations.
Ms Banda said the Council has continued monitoring public health guidelines and regulations provided for in the Public Health Act.
She said the churches and other Organizations have been certified to open and run business such as lodges and restaurants with emphasis to adhere to Public health guidelines.
“The Local Authority wishes to remind everyone to take responsibility and be a brother’s keeper by ensuring that health guidelines are followed at all times.
The role of prevention of Coronavirus does not lie with the council, police or health workers alone but with every individual regardless of age, together we can fight Coronavirus, “she said.
Ms Banda said the most difficult areas to discuss the prevention of Coronavirus is at funerals in society and culture.
She said the that health inspectors from the Council are on the ground to inspect and sensitize members of the public on COVID -19 pandemic.
