Residents of Zambia compound of Kavu area in Ndola have thanked the Community Social Welfare for the initiative it implemented that allowed them become beneficiaries of the Emergency Covid-19 relief fund.
One of the beneficiary Martha Nkhata said that she has put the K2,400 kwacha, the money she received to good use.
Ms Nkhata said that the money received has enabled her to start up some businesses helping her to take care of her three Children and one relative.
“I would like to thank the Community Social welfare for helping me with the money, this money has helped me to start up something, and my life has changed. I would like them to continue so that others can benefit as well,” she said.
She has called on the Community Social welfare to continue helping vulnerable people in various communities.
And over 300 residents of Mufulira District on the Copperbelt who were identified as beneficiaries for the Emergency Covid-19 relief funds have not received the money as promised by the Community Social Welfare.
An aggrieved resident Peter Mpundu has wondered why Mufulira residents have not received the money while in other districts people on the same program have received their funds.
Mr Mbundu has called on the Community Social Welfare to give them the money they were supposed to receive on July, 31, 2021 this year
