Kapiri congestion due to system upgrade-RDA

By JOHN SAKALA
Road Development Agency (RDA) says the traffic congestion at Kapiri Mponshi weigh bridge is due to system upgrade.

RDA Communications and Corporate Director Masuzyo Ndhlovu has told The Independent Observer that RDA is currently upgrading its software while carrying out routine maintenance at the Kapiri Mposhi fixed weighbridge.

Mr Ndhlovu saud the software upgrade and routine maintanance had led to delayed processing of weighbridge certificates thereby resulting in congestion at the Kapiri Mposhi weighbridge on the Lusaka-Ndola road.

“Motorists and operators of Heavy Goods Vehicles with Gross Mass of 6.5 tonnes that are required to pass through the weighbridge pursuant to the provisions of the Public Roads Act no 12 of 2002 are being advised that the Agency is doing everything possible to normalise the situation and the flow of traffic.

“RDA regrets the inconvenience this has caused. However, normal operations may restore soon,” he said.
