Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judithl Kapijimpanga has congratulated India over the two locally made COVID 19 vaccines made in that country.
Ms Kapijimpanga has also congratulated Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi for the launch of a massive vaccination exercise in his country.
She said Zambia, being one of the friendly countries to India, will definitely request for vaccines supply following necessary steps.
She was speaking when she toured Pushaawati Singhania Hospital and Research Institute -PSRI, a multi speciality hospital, in New Delhl India.
Ms Kapijimpanga said President Edgar Lungu has prioritised health as a key economic investment to spur the nation to become a Prosperous Middle- Income Country by 2030.
The High Commissioner has urged specialists at PSRI to design programs of mainly doing medical-surgical camps in Zambia and only exceptional cases refer for treatment in India.
She says more cases will have to be handled in Zambia as the budget for 2021 speaks to local superspecialty treatments.
And Pushpawati Singhania Hospital and Research Institute -PSRI Chief Executive Officer- Dipak Shukla said PSRI hospital has Twenty Three superspecialties run by experienced specialists.
Dr Shukle said the hospital is willing to collaborate in disciplines such as cardiac care NEUROSPINE, ONCOLOGY, ORTHOPEDICS, ARTHROPLASTY, Renal science and organ transplant.
