Mufulira’s Kantanshi Tennis Club Coach Revan Kaunda is elated by the way his tennis players performed in the just ended Mika International Tournament that took place in Lusaka from 22 to 25 October 2021.

Kaunda said that despite the tournament having various good players from Congo DRC, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia respectively, Kantanshi Tennis Club representing Copperbelt managed to record wins against Congo DRC in Men’s single category.

He said that Natasha Chewe made it to the final were she lost against a Congolese player Nancy who emerged as a winner in the girls category.

He has since called on government and other stakeholders to come on board so that Kantanshi Tennis Club players can be exposed to more international tournaments.

Kaunda has thanked Mopani for their support and dedication to the club.

And a 17 year old boy Kantanshi Tennis Club Player Marvelous Mbanjo has urged his fellow young people not to engage themselves in illicit behaviors urging them to join sports like tennis.

Mbanjo who is also an orphan has encouraged young people who think that losing parents it’s the end of the world to change that mindset with positive thoughts.

He has since called for more stakeholders to support orphans involved in tennis sports at Kantanshi Club so that they can further their academic education.
