Kampyongo not owner of Cyber Guard Security-Police

Police have dispelled rumors circulating on social media that Cyber Guard Security belongs to home affairs Minister Steven Kampyongo.

This came to light after a video of a young male who was seen being beaten by security guards employed with the company went viral.

Polices Spokesperson Esther Katongo reviled that investigations of the companies ownership based on PACRA records indicate that the company does not belong to Mr Kampyongo.

Meanwhile Police in Lusaka have arrested two in connection with the beating of the security guard who has been identified as Nicholas Katongo, 22 employed as a CCTV operator by Cyber Guard Security.

She revealed that those arrested are Davis Sebente and Albert Silwamba, both security guards at Cyber guard Security Company and were both charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

In another development, Ms Katongo said Police have apprehended three people in connection with a forged Interpol document published on Zambia Daily Mail website and also circulating on social media.

Purporting that Paul Lokonde Lukunde, a Congolese national based in Denmark has been arrested by Interpol in Lusaka and charged for Economic and Financial Crimes, Illicit Drugs and Small Arms and Light Weapons.

She said the documents are stamped and supposedly signed by former Inspector General of Police, Stella Libongani, the documents dated 10th October, 2018, further state that with the cooperation of the US Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Inspector General instructed that the suspect be transferred to the United States of America for investigations.

The suspects names have been withheld while investigations into the matter are ongoing
