Nation Democratic Congress (NDC) Copperbelt Chaiperson Chipoka Mulenga has said that the arrest of NDC leader Chishimba Kambwili is politically motivated and at the request of the PF Leadership.
Mr Mulenga said PF is scared of Dr Kambwili, hence the strategy to silence him and find him with a case that he doesn’t appear on the ballot in 2021.
He said Dr Kambwili has been denied bond even when he has mate all needed conditions.
“This is a breach of constitutional and basic human rights. Dr Kambwili is locked up for speaking for the majority unemployed Zambians, PF defend foreigners, Kambwili defends Zambians. His quest is yielding results.
“In Luanshya, Avic workers now have contracts and conditions of service and in Lusaka Zambians are now driving compactors at the same site Kambwili is locked up for. This man has proved to be the sharpest voice for the majority poor Zambians. As NDC on The Copperbelt, we are standing with him and emulating his love for the nation without fear and favour, Dr Kambwili must be freed and charges dropped,” he said.
Dr Kambwili was yesterday arrested and charged for shouting at foreign national who was driving a compactor.
