Kamanga, Kalu feud overshadowing back pages-Siwale

By JOHN SAKALA
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) 2020 aspiring president Blackwell Siwale says the feud between the current FAZ President Andrew Kamanga and Soccer icon Kalusha Bwalya takes much of the back space of newspapers.

And Siwale says there is no need of football bond but the remedy is in qualifying the national team to Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup.

Featuring on Tuesday edition of the ‘Let the People Talk’ on Radio Phoenix, Siwale said he is aspiring to be FAZ president so that can bring true reconciliation and healing to Zambian football.

He said the newspaper back pages are supposed to be reserved for coaches and players as a way to inspire other, rather than making Kamanga, Kalusha or himself the headline grabbers.

“Sports Reporters as well have contributed to this feud which is making souring sports headlines at the expense of players like Enock Mwepu and Patson Daka,” he said.

Siwale called for the need to trust the local coaches and allow them to train the Chipolopolo.

He said the $25, 000 can employ three local coaches unlike paying one foreign coach.

“What is needed with our local is to send them for training in Europe. With such commitment, our coaches will have capacity to handle any challenge ahead of them. In short we have not supported our local players. Like at the moment there is no coach for the National team. These are administrative lapses that we want to be working on,” he said.

Regarding the much talked about football bonds, Siwale said money is in football and there is no need of advocating for football bonds.

He said the remedy is to qualify the team to Afcon and to the World Cups.

He said like under his administration he targets to qualify Zambia to Afcon twice and once at the world thereby bringing money to the coffers of FAZ.

Siwale said when team qualify to Afcon and World Cup are given money for qualifying.

And one of the callers who only identified himself as Lyson said Kamanga has molested Zambian football and there is no good about his administration.

Lyson said, Zambia instead of position themselves for a qualification to the World Cu they have been cheapen to COSAFA material.
