Kalulushi Council arrests 5 beer drinkers

A combined team of health inspectors from Kalulushi Municipal Council and Zambia Police officers yesterday swung into action and apprehended five people for drinking beer from undesignated places.

Kalulushi Municipal Council Public Relations Officer Kangwa Muma say the five were apprehended for contravening the Liquor licensing Act section 46(i)(f) of 2011.

Mr Muma said the suspects, who currently detained at Kalulushi Police Station were found consuming liquor from parking lots within the central Business of the District .

“The Council would like to warn patrons of liquor stores that the Local Authority will continue with patrols in order to ensure adherence to relevant laws and the Presidential directives in the wake of coronavirus,” he said.
